Jan Brykczyński & Kristín Heida Kristinsdóttir

Jan Brykczyński (1979) – Graduated from Photography faculty at National Film School in Lodz. He also studied Social Sciences at Warsaw University and Photography at FAMU Film School in Prague. He was a participant of the workshop of VII Photo Agency (France). He regularly contributes to leading Polish magazines and he is distributed worldwide by Anzenberger Agency. Jan is interested in the process of social transformations that Eastern Europe has been experiencing, and his work focuses on issues of youth and immigration in the region.

Jan Brykczyński (1979) - absolwent fotografii PWSFTiT w Łodzi. Studiował w Szkole Filmowej FAMU w Pradze, uczestniczył w warsztatach Agencji Fotograficznej VII we Francji. Współpracuje m.in. z polską edycją National Geographic i Newsweek, Polityką i Przekrojem. Zajmuje się reportażem o tematyce społecznej. Jego zdjęcia brały udział w wystawach w Warszawie, Krakowie, Gdyni, a także – we Francji, Austrii, Czechach. Nagradzany, m.in. na konkursie Grand Press Photo, Newsreportaż (konkurs miesięcznika Neewsweek).

Name: Kristín Heiða Kristinsdóttir
Born: 25.marz 1964 in my grandmothers bed in the Farm Austurhlíð in Biskupstungur.
Was raised up in the Farm and there I did learn how to treat animals (cows, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, hens), how to feed them, how to help them to give birth, how to ride a horse, how to collect the sheep, etc.
Education:
Age 6-16: Elementary school/ primary school in Reykholt (15 kilometers from
the Farm)
Age 16-20 College: Dormitory-school in Laugarvatn (20 kilometers from the
Farm). Advanced level.
Age 20-25 University of Iceland in Reykjavik: BA-(Bachelor of Arts) in the
icelandic language.
I have been living in Reykjavík since I was 20 years old.
I have had many diffrent jobs in my life, but last 10 years i have been working a full-time job as a journalist at Morgunblaðið, the newspaper in Iceland,
I have been learning how to chant (very old way of singing old songs in icelandic) and I am a member af Kvæðamannafélagið Iðunn (The largest organisation of chanting-people in Iceland). Now my chanting voice sounds in The Icelandic Pavilion in Shanghai World EXPO.
My biggest achievement in life are my two children:
Melkorka (21) and Kristinn (12).
